TMC likely to release its first list of candidates today

The draft list of candidates was submitted to the Trinamool Congress core committee meeting on Monday (March 2). The final approval will be given by Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee. 
 

The Trinamool leadership called a meeting of the core committee at Kalighat on Monday. The selection process of the candidates was done in the meeting. However, Trinamool Congress MP Saugata Roy has been given the responsibility of this work.

According to TMC sources, the list of candidates is likely to be published in the next one or two days. Mamata Banerjee has drafted the list of candidates. The selection committee has given me the responsibility to finalize the list of candidates.

Speculations were going on that Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee may release the partial list of candidates on Monday afternoon. 
 

According to sources, the Trinamool Congress is likely to chuck out several sitting MLAs from its candidate list for the upcoming West Bengal polls.
 

The party is planning to nominate more youths, women, and leaders with clean image and acceptability in their area. A party leader said, “Stress will be given on nominating more woman leaders. Last time our candidate list had around 33 percent women candidates. This time it will go up further.”
