11 Tollywood actors who joined BJP bandwagon in poll season

A host of Tollywood actors have joined the BJP ahead of the West Bengal assembly polls. Kailash Vijayvargiya, Mukul Roy and Swapan Dasgupta handed over the BJP flag to the stars in Kolkata. Let’s check out the names of the stars who joined the BJP recently.

Srabanti Chatterjee: Tollywood actress Srabanti Chatterjee joined the BJP in presence of party’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and party's state president, Dilip Ghosh. Srabanti Chatterjee said, “My new journey has begun. I have been acting since childhood. Got everyone's love. There are some duties I want to do for those who have loved me unconditionally. I was inspired after hearing Modiji's speech. I wanted to do something by following his guidelines. It seems that the country will move in the right direction under the leadership of the BJP, so I have joined this party. Moreover, it seems that BJP can bring change in Bengal.”

Yash Dasgupta: Yash Dasgupta joined in the BJP in presence of the party's West Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP national vice-president Mukul Roy and Rajya Sabha MP Swapan Dasgupta. After joining the BJP, he said, “If you want to change the system, you have to be part of the system.”

Payel Sarkar: Payel Sarkar joined the BJP in the presence BJP national president JP Nadda ahead of the Assembly polls. After joining the party, she tweeted, “It’s an absolute privilege to be a part of the world’s largest political party #BJP4India @BJP4Bengal. My sincerest pranam to @narendramodi ji, @AmitShah ji, @JPNadda ji & @DilipGhoshBJP ji.”
 

Hiran Chatterjee: Hiran Chatterjee joined the BJP in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at West Bengal’s Namkhana. Hiran Chatterjee was earlier with TMC Yuva morcha.

Rudranil Ghosh: Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh, who was once considered close to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has joined the BJP. He said, “'We are going to join BJP for the sake of people.”
 

Papiya Adhikari: Papiya Adhikari is a Tollywood actress and Jatra (theatre) personality. She joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 17 Feb 2021. She got the break through after playing the lead role in Soshane Kandche Lakkhi. She played the role of heroine as well as supporting part in number of Bengali films. Adhikari is also active in small screen and Bengali tele-serials like Gachkouto, Chokher Tara Tui and Gangster Ganga.
 

Soumili Ghosh Biswas: Soumili Biswas is a Bengali film and television actress. She joined the BJP along with other prominent Tollywood actors. In 2007 she played the role of Durga in ETV Bangla's Durge Durgatinashini.

Minakshi Ghosh: Minakshi Ghosh is a Bengali actress who joined the BJP on 17 Feb 2021. 
 

Sutapa Mukherjee: A host of actors and celebrities, including Sutapa Mukherjee joined the BJP. She is a popular actress in Bengali daily soaps.
 

Tramila Bhattacharya: Tramila Bhattacharya joined the BJP. The actress played an antagonist in ‘Potol Kumar Gaanwala’ and left no stones unturned to bother little Potol. Tramila is seen playing a negative role in ‘Mayurpankhi’.
 

Mallika Banerjee: Mallika Banerjee joined the BJP on 17 Feb 2021. She is a popular Bengali television actress and have worked in many daily soaps.
