Last weekend Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya broke many hearts as they announced their separation after four years of marriage. With the announcement, they ended weeks of speculation and rumours.

After the news Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya's father, reacted to the news and called the separation 'very unfortunate'. “With a heavy heart let me say this! Whatever happened between Sam and Chay is very unfortunate. What happens between a wife and husband is very personal. Sam and Chay, both are dear to me. My family will always cherish the moments spent with Sam and she will always be dear to us. May God bless them both with strength,” Nagarjuna’s note read.

Now, Samantha's father Joseph Prabhu has shared his response to his daughter's divorce announcement. According to Zee Hindustan Telugu, Mrs Prabhu was utterly shocked when he knew about his daughter's divorce.

He did not feel anything, and his mind went totally blank. Nevertheless, he hopes that the circumstances will improve soon and that his daughter's fans will support her in these trying times.
