Speaking to Times Now, she said, "I had confidence that I would never ask for money. Mein kuch na kuch kar lugi. Mujhe koi kaam karne mein sharam nahi hain, ye mene meri maa se seekha hain. Mein jhadu laga lugi, bartan maanjh lugi, lekin main mangungi nahi, isliye mujhe wo confidence that (I know I would have done something. I feel no shame in doing any work, and I learnt that from my mother. I would sweep the floor, wash utensils, but I will never ask anyone for money. That confidence I had.")
Neena had an affair with Vivian Richards, but he did not leave his family for her, "At that age when you are in love, you don't think what will happen next. I did not even ask for a penny from my brother or father, no financial support, or emotional support. And that is my strength."
Masaba is now a successful designer. Neena and Masaba even starred in Netflix originals Masaba Masaba, where they played mother and daughter.
