Vijay Deverakonda is all set for his Hindi debut Liger, co-starring with Ananya Panday.

Karan Johar and Dharma Productions took to their Instagram profile to make their big announcement irrespective of language, regions a couple of days back. On January 18, they unleashed the poster and the name of their upcoming project with the South superstar Vijay Deverakonda and Bollywood new sensation Ananya Panday.

Vijay's Hindi debut film was supposed to be named, Fighter but turned out to be Liger which has been mostly shot before Covid-19 could hit the nations. It is directed by Puri Jagannadh, a big name in Telegu cinema but a big flop in Hindi cinema. Have you watched Bbuddha... Hoga Terra Baap starring Amitabh Bachchan? It's his directorial flick.

Vijay suggested the director's name even though Karan was not so keen to take him up under his team name. But, he couldn't say no to Vijay. They budgeted the film in Rs 125 crores, and Vijay will be speaking his own lines in Hindi. The movie will release in five languages, Hindi, Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Ananya Panday plays the love interest of VD, who has nothing to do extraordinary in the film. However, the first choice was Janhvi Kapoor for the lead, but the role has nothing to make an impression which is why Ananya Panday was taken under the wing.

Vijay is playing the character of Mixed Martial Arts expert in the film. He has been trained in the form.

But do you know Karan wanted Vijay to make his Bollywood debut with the remake of Dear Comrade. But as the film didn't receive much of an appreciation. He dropped the idea.
