Kannur rape case: 'Mother would close my mouth while rapist carried out act', says victim
The 16-year-old girl and her 13-year-old sister were raped by a relative with the help of their mother in Kerala's Kannur district.
Shocking revelations have surfaced in the Kannur rape case, where two minor sisters were raped by a relative. The victim revealed that her mother had a key role in the incident.
"When the relative used to rape, my mother used to close my mouth so that no one else could hear my cry," said the victim.
It is reported that after a fight with the victim's father, the mother was staying in a different house with a relative. The victim said that she was raped by the relative when she came home from the hostel for vacation.
The victim said that she couldn't disclose this to others due to fear. Later when the victim shared her ordeal with her sister, she came to know her sister was also a rape victim.
The incident came to light, when the sisters called up their father to inform about the matter. Soon the father called up Child Line authorities and rescued the children.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested the mother and the 52-year-old relative. According to sources, the accused have confessed to the crime.
