Virat Kohli hits historic landmark on Instagram

Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who is also rated as the world's best batsman, has infinite records to his name in the sport. Naturally, his performance has earned him tremendous recognition worldwide, which has allowed him to build a strong and loyal fan base.
As a result of this fan-following, Kohli has attracted many followers on social media across all platforms. Meanwhile, he has hit a monumental and historic landmark on Instagram.

Kohli has now attained 100 million followers on Instagram. Consequently, he has become not just the first global cricketer to do so but also the first Indian to achieve the same.
Kohli has now joined the likes of renowned footballers, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar, along with other famous celebrities, to enter the 100-million club. Following the same, the International Cricket Council took to its social media to welcome Kohli to the club, with a post captioned, "Virat Kohli - the first cricket star to hit 💯 million followers on @instagram 🎉".
As for Kohli's social media followers, besides 100 million on Instagram, he also has 40.8 million followers on Twitter and 36 million on Facebook. Among Indians, distinguished Bollywood and international actress Priyanka Chopra is next to Kohli, with more than 60 million followers.
Also, Kohli's Bollywood wife, Anushka Sharma, is one of the most followed Indian celebrities on social media, with around 87 million followers. As for her followers individually, it happens to be 46.4 million on Instagram, followed by 22.4 million on Twitter and 17.8 million on Facebook.
Considering the most followed celebrities on Instagram, Ronaldo tops the list, with more than 266 million followers. Next to him is the leading singer Ariana Grande (224 million), followed by Hollywood great and former WWE legend Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson (220 million).
