IPL 2020: ‘Mum-bye, Abu Dhab-hi’, say Mumbai Indians as they leave for UAE
Mumbai: Mumbai Indians’ (MI) players today (August 21) left from Mumbai for Abu Dhabi to take part in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020). The Rohit Sharma-led side are the defending champions, having defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in last year’s final.
On social media, MI franchise shared images of players suited in PPE kits and ready for travel. Also, they posted a picture from inside of the aircraft.
“Mum-bye Abu Dhab-hi! . Drop a (blue heart emoji) wishing the team a happy journey. #OneFamily #MumbaiIndians #MI #Dream11IPL (sic),” the team wrote on Instagram and Twitter.
IPL 2020 will be played in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah from September 19 to November 10.
MI are likely to face CSK in the opening game. The schedule is yet to be released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
All the MI players were pictured in their PPE kits. New dad Hardik Pandya is set to return to cricket action after having missed international cricket due to an injury.
