200 million spectators! Yes, that’s the viewership that the 13th IPL edition attracted on the opening match of this season on Saturday evening. The opening match, probably the biggest rivalry, between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), witnessed a whooping viewership.
Though the opening match was played at Abu Dhabi could not open in-stadium viewership because of the raging pandemic, but it did invite a fantastic broadcast viewership.
It is true that IPL is a people's night spectacle, which steals the viewership of some trending operas.
Truly, the BCCI’s chief Sourav Ganguly’s wish came true. The former stated, "They (broadcasters) are actually expecting the highest rating of IPL this season because they believe that if (people) don't turn up in the ground, they will be actually watching on their television sets.”
The Indian Premier League (IPL) announced their spectatorship figures via their official Twitter handle, marking their ecstasy on achieving the highest ever TV & DIGITAL viewership in IPL history.

The next day's match was no less short of a final, where Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) played the Super Over and crowned Delhi as winners.
