The third match of the 2020 IPL season was scheduled between the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), where the former won by 10 runs. The match was held on consecutive days at the Dubai International Stadium.
Let’s just highlight some noteworthy points of the match:
Padikkal’s Powerplay
This young India’s U-19 player surely proved his worth in his debut match. Opening with Finch, Padikkal scored 56 off 42 balls that gave a fantastic start to the RCB.
SRH blows openers consecutively
Without any loss till the eleventh over, RCB had scored 90. The last ball of the eleventh over and the first ball of the twelfth oversaw consecutive fall of both the openers.
Mr 360 consolidated
With a good start followed by the turbulent middle, it was AB de Villiers who took RCB to a formidable total of 163. The former scored 51 off 30 balls.
Bairstow-Pandey stand
With Warner falling cheaply, the duo consolidated to a 71 run partnership that gave hope to SRH.
Chahal churned SRH
The RCB leggie, who earlier broke the 71 run partnership by dismissing Pandey, was the game-changer for RCB on Monday. In the sixteenth over, he scalped two wickets consecutively that brought SRH into massive trouble. Striking Bairstow first, he deceived Vijay Shankar on the very next ball, who had just joined in.
