From Virat Kohli to Hardik Pandya, cricketers who amazed the fans even in the lockdown

With the raging pandemic spreading all over the world, Coronavirus had wreaked havoc during the lockdown. With cricket being brought to a standstill, there was hardly anything else to do for the cricketers. Amid all mundane days, here are some of the Indian cricketers who kept the fans amazed in the lockdown days. 

When all the activities had come to a halt amid the lockdown, life came to a standstill and looked quite monotonous. Though in the limping time, each one tried to engage themselves in one way or the other, people were on a constant lookout for things that could surprise them. Here are some of the Indian cricketers who surprised the fans with some good news.

Virat Kohli
The Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma, one of the most endeared couples, amazed the fans with the news. They announced that the duo is soon to become parents (most likely in January 2021). The news hit social media when both Kohli and Anushka took to their Instagram handle and posted the picture of the latter's pregnancy, captioned “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021.”
 

Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya, who got engaged with Serbian model Natasa Stankovic in January this year, broke the pregnancy news of his wife on May 31. Posting some photos of the baby shower,  his Instagram post captioned “Natasa and I have had a great journey together and it is just about to get better. Together, we are excited to welcome a new life into our lives very soon. We’re thrilled about this new phase of our life and seek your blessings and wishes.” On July 30, the couple was blessed with a baby boy.

Yuzvendra Chahal
The engagement news of the leg spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal came in as an absolute surprise. He announced the celebration of his Roka ceremony on August 8. He took to his Instagram handle and posted a picture with his lady love Dhanashree Verma, captioned “Yes along with our families #rokaceremony.” Dhanashree is a Doctor turned choreographer with a million-plus subscriber on YouTube.

Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina surprised the fans by making two major announcements during the lockdown. The first left the fans in drizzly eyes of happiness, while the other was a little disappointing. Just when lockdown had just begun, he welcomed his son. He posted a picture with his wife and the newborn, captioned “The beginning of all things – wonder, hope, possibilities, and a better world! We are proud to welcome our son & Gracia’s little brother – Rio Raina. May he flows beyond boundaries, bringing peace, renewal & prosperity to everyone’s life.”
Besides, the little disappointing news flowed in just a few minutes after MS Dhoni’s retirement on August 15, as the former announced his retirement from international cricket. Fans were shattered with this news, as Raina still had so much cricket left in him.

Vijay Shankar
The budding all-rounder too surprised his fans during the lockdown. He shared the news of his engagement with Vaishali Visweswaran, by posting pictures on his Instagram handle. Dressed up in traditional attires, he captioned the picture with just a ‘ring’ to say about his engagement.
