India on Tuesday reported 127,510 new Covid-19 cases and 2,795 virus-linked fatalities in the last 24 hours. But there's more to these statistics than just numbers. Let's understand.

Follow* The number of daily new cases of 1.27 lakh is the lowest in 54 days.

* The country's active caseload further declined to 18,95,520. This is the first time in 43 days that active cases have been below 20 lakh.
* In last 24 hours, the number of active Covid-19 cases decreased by 1,30,572.
* For the 19th successive day, recoveries continue to outnumber daily new cases. In the last 24 hours, 2,55,287 patients have recovered taking the total recoveries to 2,59,47,629.
* The country's recovery rate continues to increase and stood at 92.09% on Tuesday.
* While the daily positivity rate dipped to 6.62%, less than 10% for the 8th consecutive day, the weekly positivity rate currently pegged at 8.64%.
* Under the nationwide vaccination drive, 21.6 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far.
