This Onam, you might not get to see actors on your television, thanks to actress attack controversy

Onam is a time when several movies are being released in Kerala. Television channels also arrange several special programmes where you will get to see many big celebrities and their family members.   

However, this year you might miss your favourite celebs on TV. according to reports, actors have unofficially decided to boycott TV programmes in the wake of Dileep's arrest in actress attack case.

Rumour has it that Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) members might boycott Onam special shows on television channels over the alleged sensationalisation of the arrest of Dileep by the media.  

Many big budget movies including Nivin Pauly's Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela, Prithviraj Sukumaran's Adam Joan, Mammootty's Masterpiece and Mohanlal's Velipaadinte Pusthakam are all set to release during Onam weekend. 

Television is a platform that plays a big role in film promotions by pulling the family audience to the theatre. It is very unlikely that the producers and distributors will want to get actress attack controversy get in the way of promoting their films. 

However, there is great chance that at least some celebrities, like Mukesh, Ganesh and Innocent, who had lashed out at reports during the press meet after the general body meeting of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) are likely to stay away from channel programmes during Onam celebrations.
