FollowBollywood's hottest couple Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan have finally ended their 18-year marriage after a family court in Bandra granted them divorce. Malaika Arora had asked Rs 10-15 crore from husband Arbaaz Khan as a divorce settlement.
Yes, you heard it right, Malaika, who shows herself as independent and non-demanding woman asked for a whopping sum from her ex-husband.
The couple had approached the Bandra family court seeking divorce by mutual consent last year and attended some mandatory counselling sessions. Malaika, who did not seek alimony from Arbaaz, got custody of their 14-year-old son. Malaika has got the son's custody and Arbaaz will have unlimited access to him the court said.
According to Spotboye, a source close to the couple had said, "That's quite an amount no doubt, but Rs 10 crore minimum is what Malaika wants. And she will not settle for anything lesser." And so Arbaaz is giving Malaika an alimony of Rs 15 crore.
According to the reports, the Khan-daan was not too pleased with her showy and flamboyant lifestyle, Salman Khan's sisters Alvira and Arpita never got along with her well.
While they were separated, Malaika Arora was included in many Khan family celebrations. Arbaaz, the brother of actor Salman Khan, belongs to a famously close-knit family. Malaika was spotted at various parties and festivals. She also accompanied the Khans to Maldives for a family vacation.
Reports of their marriage being on the rocks had started doing rounds when they stopped appearing together on a TV show they were hosting. Malaika and Arbaaz had met at an ad shoot in 1998 and were married soon. They welcomed a son, their only child, in 2002.
