Thalaivan Irukkiraan is expected from Kamal Haasan What about Thalaivar

Tamil Nadu has been hotting up in the political scene for quite some time. From the Superstar, we now have Kamal Haasan. Almost hinting at a real stint in Tamil Nadu politics through this project on reel is Ulaganagan's next - Thalaivan Irukkiraan, which in English translates to: The Leader Is Here.

With enough being said about the two heroes Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan challenging each other on the silver screen, fresh expectations have emerged regarding their face-off on the political corridors as well. So is Thalaivan Irukkiraan an answer to Thalaivar's 'thani vazhi' (unique path)?

Actor/filmmaker Kamal Haasan will soon resume work on his Hindi-Tamil bi-lingual, Thalaivan Irukkiran, once he is done with Vishwaroopam 2 and Sabash Naidu. The movie will also have Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.

Kamal, who is currently hosting the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil, is also embroiled in several controversies about the show, coupled with his highly volatile opinions about the Tamil Nadu government. And here is Dasavataram hero's next avatar, which will hit the floors next year.

In a recent interview to Tamil magazine Anantha Vikatan, Kamal said, “It will be Vishwaroopam 2 first, followed by Sabaash Naidu. If I reveal my next project now, people may think that I am using the current circumstances. But, I have registered the title 4-5 years back. My next will be Thalaivan Irukkiran."

According to reports, in 2015, Kamal had already announced a Hindi-Tamil bilingual action flick titled Thalaivan Irukkiran (TI) in Tamil and Amar Hain in Hindi with Saif Ali Khan, and it was supposed to be written and helmed by Haasan himself. However, after the announcement, the film never took off for reasons which remain unknown. TI is touted to be a contemporary political thriller.

He further added that the story travels from Mumbai to North India and traverses some picturesque international cities as the plot progresses. Remember, Superstar's Kaala too has its base in Mumbai. The producers, along with the film’s mastermind Kamal, had planned to explore shooting locations in Mumbai, Delhi, London, Dubai, Jordan and parts of the US. And it was said the Haasan was supposed to play the of an antagonist in the film. Rajini's fans can't help but wonder if this hero will play the same role, literally causing 'Sadma' in their Kaala Karikaalan's political life too.

Meanwhile, Kamal's much awaited Vishwaroopam 2 will hit the screens later this year. The movie, a sequel to the 2013 blockbuster, also stars Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and Shekhar Kapur in main roles. Tamil Nadu is waiting with bated breath to see who will take on the reins of the state - Kamal Haasan as Aalavandhaan or Rajinikanth as Annamalai.
