Ten upcoming South films you need to watch out for

Many blockbuster films like Nannaku Prematho, Theri , Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Brahmotsavam and many others have released over the last six months. But the rest of the year is just getting better for fans of South films.

 

 

Kabali: The whole country is talking about Rajinikanth's Kabali right now. Kabali is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam on July 22 and there is already speculation about whether the movie might even beat Baahubali in collections. Rajinikanth is playing the role of an aged gangster called Kabali. Taiwanese actor Winston Chao, Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Dinesh Ravi, Kalaiyarasan and John Vijay star in other pivotal roles.

 


 
Janatha Garage (Telugu and Malayalam): In this movie, we will also see Mollywood superstar Mohanlal and Telugu's Jr NTR sharing the screen space, a fact that makes the movie attractive to both Telugu and Malayalam audiences.  NT Rama Rao Jr, Samantha and Nithya Menon are in the lead roles. Janatha Garage also stars Saikumar, Devayani and Unni Mukundan in other important roles. The Koratala Siva film is expected to release in August.

 

 

White (Malayalam): Mollywood star Mammootty has many movies in the store, but the biggest one is White. The film promises to a fresh love story completely set in London. White also marks the debut of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi. The film is scheduled to release at the end of July.

 

 

Pulimurugan (Malayalam): Mollywood superstar Mohanlal’s first offering for his fans this year is going to be Pulimurugan. The movie is an action-adventure film where Mohanlal plays the role of a hunter. The release is currently scheduled for July 7. Bengali actress Kamalini Mukherjee is the female lead opposite Mohanlal.

 


 
Thodari (Tamil): The movie is a feast for Dhanush fans and his first film this year. Director Prabhu Solomon's film promises to be a nail-biting thriller with an exciting duo of Dhanush and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles. Thodari will be released in September. The makers are yet to decide on the exact date.

 

 

Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada (Tamil): The movie is an ambitious bilingual remake by Gautham Menon. The Tamil version stars Simbu, and the Telugu one stars Naga Chaitanya. The both versions have received an enormous amount of interest by their fans, and the film is tentatively expected to release on July 25.

 

 

Singam 3 (Tamil): The movie is the sequel to the 2013 film Singam. The film stars Suriya, Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan. The film is expected to be released on 28 October, with the festival of Diwali falling on its opening weekend. Director Hari is known for finishing his movies in record time so that we might see unexpected news about S3's trailer anytime soon.

 

 

Iru Mugan (Tamil): The movie is a treat for Vikram's fans. Iru Mugan is a mystery thriller has a massive hype and after the Hollywood-like teaser of the film, the excitement has skyrocketed. The film stars Vikram, Nayantara, and Nithya Menon in the lead roles. However, Iru Mugan will not release anytime before September.

 


 
Majnu (Telugu): Majnu is the remake of Malayalam film Premam and is anticipated to be a big film for Tollywood. It is said that if the remake is done properly, then it can become as massive as Premam or maybe even greater. Majnu is expected to release in July.

 

 

Vishwaroopam II (Tamil and Hindi): The film is the sequel to Vishwaroopam (2013) written and directed by superstar Kamal Haasan and also features Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah. The movie is produced by Venu Ravichandran in Tamil and Ekta Kapoor in Hindi as Vishwaroop II. The movie looks like it will finally release on Diwali along with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay.
