Superstar Rajinikanth receives warning from the dons son

Superstar Rajinikanth lands in legal trouble over rumours of him making a biopic on Haji Mastan Mirza, the underworld don from Tamil Nadu.

Rajinikanth and Pa Ranjith, who might be directing the film on Haji Mastan, received a legal notice from Sundar Shaekhar, who says he’s his adopted son. In the notice, Sundar has asked Rajinikanth not to depict Haji Mastan as a ‘smuggler, villain and an underworld don’.

He also said Haji was never proved guilty or been registered as a smuggler or underworld don at any court and that is why Rajini or Pa Ranjith cannot show him in a negative role.

Haji Mastan was said to be a smuggler, film financier and real estate businessman, according to Times of India. There are speculations that Rajini will play the role of the don, who lived between 1926 and 1994, in his next movie with Kabali director, Pa Ranjith.

“In a case of ignoring the notice, a legal action would be taken against the movie,” Sunder says. Would the Thalivaa take a step back on this? or would he take that risk?

A part of the notice reads,” Recently I came to know through print media viz. Times Of India and Tamil Times that you along with Director Mr Ranjit are making a film on my Godfather Late Shri Haji Mastan Mirza’s lifeline or biopic, hence I am thereby sending you this notice.” He also added,” I further state that you are depicting my Godfather and a well-known national political leader as a “Smuggler and an Underworld Don”, which are highly unacceptable and I strongly oppose such misinterpretation of my Godfather.”

Sundar Shaekhar even added that he will be forced to take legal proceedings if the actor doesn’t abide by his terms. Actor Ajay Devgan’s character in the movie Once Upon A Time in Mumbai was also inspired by Mastan Mirza.
