Samiksha to play junior Janu in 99; Kannada remake of 96, Hemanth to play Ram
Ganesh and Bhavana are taking on the lead roles in Preetham Gubbi's movie 99; the remake of Tamil movie 96. Here are details about the cast of the film.
FollowBengaluru: Tamil film 96 is being remade in Kannada as 99, starring Golden Star Ganesh. The Tamil film starred Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan in the lead role. Their roles as school children played by different actors also earned them accolades. The Kannada film 99 too has bagged actors to play the roles of Junior Janu and Junior Ram.
Bhavana plays Janu opposite Ganesh who plays Ram in 99. Junior Janu's role will be played by actress Samiksha and Hemanth will essay the role of junior Ram.
Samiksha who hails from Shivamogga is part of the Kannada serial Subbalakshmi Samsara. She has also acted in the film The Terrorist that released on the same day as 'The Villain.'
Hemanth, who plays the role of Junior Ram, also played the role of young Yash in Mr and Mrs Ramachari.
Ganesh and Bhavana too return as an onscreen duo after a long time. They acted together in the movie Romeo that released in 2012.
The movie was launched in December and currently is being shot in coastal areas of Mangaluru.
The movie will be directed by Preetham Gubbi and is the third movie of the Ganesh-Preetham combination.
Ramu is the producer and Santosh Rai Pathaje is the cinematographer of the music director. This movie also marks Arjun Janya’s 100th movie as music director.
