The film had a mixed reaction from fans of the performers in the film as well as critics upon its theatrical premiere. Rudrangi features noteworthy performances by Jagapathi Babu, Mamta Mohandas, Kalakeya Prabhakar, and Vimala Raman. Ajay Samrat, one of the writers behind the Baahubali saga and a close collaborator of Vijayendra Prasad, makes his directorial debut with the film. In an interview, the filmmaker discusses how the stories he grew up hearing, as well as personal events, led him develop and direct Rudrangi.
Rudrangi Story:
After hearing numerous stories, experiencing many situations, and having a particular perspective of history, Ajay felt forced to write the account. Rudrangi was not inspired by a single person. The conflicts in the novel are identical to those that every region must have faced at some point in history. Several films have been created on how zamindars repressed the fate of villages; nevertheless, Rudrangi offers a fresh perspective on the situation, combining familial emotions in a societal drama.
