Renowned actor Jagannatha Varma passes away in Thiruvananthapuram

Veteran Malayalam actor K. N. Jagannatha Varma passed away at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. He was 77.

Varma was born into an affluent family in Cherthala. He joined state police department in 1963 and retired from service as Superintendent of police.

Varma is survived by his wife Santha Varma and two children. His son Manu Varma is also an actor and well-known filmmaker director Viji Thampi is his son-in-law.

The actor was a quintessential part of Mollywood movies and Television serials from the early 70s till recently. Varma has acted in over 500 movies portraying both positive and negative characters. He was a police officer and also an accomplished Kathakali artist.
