Hyderabad Sex scandal: Popular Telugu actresses cater to VIP customers only, alleges arrested kingpin

Since last month the Tollywood film industry has been grappling with issues of drugs and substance abuse. Police investigation involved calling 19 famous names from the industry in questioning thanks to their names being found in the contact list of the alleged kingpin of the drug racket, Calvin Mascarenhas.

Tollywood fans were shocked when the names of several top celebrities cropped up in connection with the drug racket investigation.  If that was not enough recently a young Telugu actress accused a director and co-actor of trying to rape her in a moving car.

Now names of Telugu film and TV actors have allegedly surfaced in a recently busted prostitution racket in the city massage parlours and spas.

Hyderabad police have recently cracked down on spas and massage parlours which had been operating brothel houses in residential and commercial areas under the form of massage centres. The police rescued 65 women, 34 of whom are from Thailand. Apart from 34 Thai nationals, police also rescued 21 from the northeastern states, one from Punjab and 9 from Hyderabad.

Now a report in Gulte states that a few Telugu film and TV actresses are also involved in this flesh trade business.

32-year-old Dasari Siddhartha, an owner of the Tripad Vernus and Healing Services Pvt Ltd in Banjara Hills, was arrested for operating all the massage parlours that were raided. He is said to have previous connections in flesh trade in Tamil Nadu too. During the interrogation, Siddhartha has reportedly revealed the names of two popular Telugu actresses and a few TV stars.

He also alleged those actresses cater only to VVIP and VIP customers. According to the same report, the police will soon send notices to the two actresses to be called for an investigation.

The last time we heard of the news of actress involvement in a prostitution racket was in 2014 when former national award winning child actor Shweta Basu was arrested by the Hyderabad police for her alleged involvement. She denied all the accusations and later, session courts of Hyderabad withdrew all prostitution charges against her.
