Malayalam director Kannan Rangaswamy passes away at 29

Director of Dhayam fame passed away after suffering a massive heart attack at a private hospital on Sunday. Kannan Rangaswamy was admitted to the hospital after he suffered a heart-attack on September 23. He was later moved to Jipmer hospital in Pondicherry. 

His condition continued to deteriorate. He remained in the coma for about 15 days before he suffered a massive heart attack on October 29, at 9 am, from which he failed to recover.

He was known for his psychological thriller film Dhayam that starred Jayakumar, Samaira Sandhu, Aanchal Singh, Santhosh Singh. The film revolves around eight people who are giving an interview for the post of a CEO in a top company. While the film received mixed reviews, the director was congratulated for his unusual concept.

Kannan made his directorial debut without assisting any others directors in the film industry in the past. However, he underwent filmmaking training in New York.

His last post on social media was "Heartfelt, sincere wishes to all those who wished on my birthday. Will try to entertain you more giving good movies and remaining a good friend to you all. You all made my day. Celebrities, friends have paid condolences on social media.
