Prithviraj's ambitious project Tiyaan was scheduled to release on June 29. Tiyaan is said to be a socio-political drama set in North India which is based on a struggle between good and evil, right and wrong. Journalist-turned-actor Murali Gopy, who has also played a key role in the film, has penned down the film's screenplay. Tiyaan also marks the comeback of Padmapriya in Malayalam.
On June 30, Friday there was supposed to have two big Malayalam film releases with Fahadh Faasil's Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum and Prithviraj's Tiyaan.
However, the latter seems to have pulled out after hitting a roadblock with the Censor Board (CBFC). Tiyaan, the Prithviraj-Indrajith starring movie, is one of the most awaited projects of the year. Tiyaan is said to be a socio-political drama set in North India which is based on a struggle between good and evil, right and wrong.
Journalist-turned-actor Murali Gopy, who has also played a key role in the film, has penned down the film's screenplay. The movie is directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar which has now been postponed.

Now the movie has been rescheduled to hit the theatres on 7th July, Friday. The news has severely disappointed the movie lovers, who have been eagerly waiting for the release of the Prithviraj-Indrajith starrer. The movie also has a strong supporting cast in Murali Gopy, Shine Tom Chacko, Padmapriya Janakiraman, Suraj Venjarumoodu, Ananya and Ravi Singh. Indrajith’s daughter Prarthana is also making her debut in the movie. Tiyaan also marks the comeback of Padmapriya in Malayalam.Mollywood superstar Mohanlal is said to be the narrator in Tiyaan.
Prithviraj also took to his social networking page to reveal the sad news to his fans. "TIYAAN will not hit the theatres on 29th of June as we have hit a roadblock with the censor board. Will keep you folks updated as soon as we have a new release date confirmed. Thank you for the immense support and the excitement you've shown for this film," he posted.
