Dileep has vowed never to rejoin AMMA

There is no doubt that actor Dileep played a vital role in the decisions of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) before he was arrested in the sensational actress attack case that shocked the entire film industry.

It was under his leadership that the organisation implemented various policies, including pension for senior actors, that helped to increase the popularity and acceptance of the Association.

It is no secret that that AMMA stood by Dileep during the initial days of the actress attack case. However, the association members’ decision to sack Dileep, after his arrest, came as a shock to the actor.

According to sources, after his expulsion Dileep is no more interested to return to the filmy power group. Reports are that the actor has vowed never to rejoin AMMA, even if he comes clear of all the charges levelled against him in actress attack case.

Last month, the president of the association, Innocent said that AMMA stands with the assaulted actress, not the accused.

There is no doubt that Dileep had supported several projects of AMMA, including the making of the film Twenty:20. Those standing with the actor are of the opinion that AMMA should not have dismissed the actor as he is just an accused and has not been convicted yet.

Meanwhile, Dileep's remand period has been extended til September 2 and the High Court is yet to pronounce its judgment in the bail application submitted by actor.
