Dangal actress Zaira Wasim, a Kashmiri actor was miraculously rescued by locals a few days back. Her car, a Scorpio Jeep (JK 01 A 0819), had fallen into the Dal Lake on Thursday (June 08), but she and other occupants were removed from the car within minutes.

According to the local police, Zaira Wasim's car went out of the driver’s control on the Boulevard Road, it skidded and fell into the Dal Lake. The actress was unhurt, but her friend Arif Ahmad did suffer some injuries. The reports say, “People immediately rescued her and her companion. She escaped unhurt, but her companion sustained injuries in the accident.”



According to the eyewitnesses, the vehicle was moving at a high speed and the driver lost control over the vehicle. The car jumped over the footpath and hit the parapet along the lake.



The car, according to some reports, belonged to a local politician, police said. The police said since there were no reports of injuries or damage to public property, no case has been registered in the matter.

Zaira shot to fame with her portrayal of a younger version of wrestler Geeta Phogat in Aamir Khan's blockbuster Dangal.


Earlier this year, the actress was also involved in a controversy after she met Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti. She had posted a picture of the meeting, but after receiving flak on social media, she decided to pull down the post and apologise.
