Bajrangi Bhaijaan was scripted for none other than Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar, say sources from Gandhinagar.

A source in the industry revealed that the producer, Rockline Venkatesh who has pumped in money for a number of successful projects in Kannada, Hindi and Telugu was fixed on portraying Puneeth as the bhaijaan. But when the storyline got appreciation from the filmy people in the Bollywood front, he thought of making it big and decided to make the movie in Hindi.

"A girl travelling from Bengaluru to Pakistan is not very appealing to people in North India. Hence, it was decided to make a film on a big budget for a wide reach and roped in Salman Khan," said a source.

When asked about the same, producer Rockline Venkatesh, said the issue is very old, and he did not want to comment on it now.
