'Hurt': Actress Sudhaa Chandran on being stopped at airport, tags PM Modi on post
The actress, who has an artificial limb, published a video on her Instagram account about passing through airport security and needing to remove or reveal her prosthetic limb to the authorities to receive a security clearance.
FollowSudhaa Chandran, a popular TV star and accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, shared a video on social media on Thursday. She recorded on the selfie mode of her mobile camera, requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to issue a special card for specially challenged senior citizens like her to avoid being grilled and humiliated by airport authorities.
The actress, who has an artificial limb, published a video on her Instagram account about passing through airport security and needing to remove or reveal her prosthetic limb to the authorities to receive a security clearance. She said that she is grilled each time and that it 'hurts.'
In the video, Sudhaa can be heard saying, "This is an appeal to the central government and the state government. I am Sudhaa Chandran, an actor and dancer by profession. I have danced with an artificial limb and created history, making my country proud."

She further said that every time she goes on her professional visits, she is stopped at the airport each time. Adding further, she said when she requests them at the security, to the CISF officials that do an ETD (Explosive Trace Detector) test for my artificial limb, they still want her to remove her artificial limb and show it to them. She asked, "Is it humanly possible Modi ji?"

She said that she hopes for a response or fast action on her request. Sudhaa's video appeared to be filmed outside an airport, and it appeared that she had recently removed her leg and shown it to officials for security clearance. She is well-known for her roles in TV series such as 'Kaahin Kissii Roz' and all seasons of 'Naagin.' The actress was also nominated for a National Award for her performance in the Telugu film 'Mayuri,' which was based on her life.
