Ghaziabad: Three more persons including the main accused have been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police in connection with the murder of journalist Vikram Joshi.

The police arrested Shahnoor Mansuri alias Chotu, Akash Nath and Ravi.

Hours after the shooting incident on Monday (July 20), police had arrested six persons Shakir, Mohit, Dalveer, Abhishek Saroj, Abhishek Janwal alias Balmiki and Jogendra.

At a raid in Mansuri's house, police also seized a .315 bore pistol which they believe was used in firing at the journalist..

While the police continue their probe, Joshi succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday (July 22) due to excessive bleeding in his head. Joshi was shot in the head near his house at Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad. The victim’s family said they would not claim the body until the killers are all arrested. One more accused Babu is still at large.

Based on the allegation from family that the station in-charge officer deliberately delayed in taking action against the accused when they first complained, the SP has placed the station in-charge under suspension.

According to sources, the family recalling the horror on July 20, said that immediately after Joshi got down from his vehicle, he was beaten and then he was shot in the head.
