Dharmapuri: The Dharmapuri Police caught and sent an upper caste Hindu man to jail after he forced a Dalit boy to carry his faeces with his hands after defecating in the accused’s land in Tamil Nadu.

Rajasekar, a 50-year-old Brahmin, was absconding after a complaint by the family of the victim with Pennagaram Police against him in caste-based atrocities and assault.

After a search, the man was arrested and produced in court and later was sent to judicial custody.

As per a report, in the FIR against the accused, he forced the 14-year-old boy to eat his own faeces on July 18. The accused got furious after he found the boy openly defecating in his land.

According to the victim's family, the central government provided toilets that do not have water facilities and hence the family, without any option, defecates in the open.

Because of this reason the boy had got into the accused's land. After the boy returned home in a state of shock and hands smeared with his own faeces, the victim’s father cleaned it and later filed a complaint.

After the incident was shared on social media and with pressure from netizens and others, police acted swiftly and arrested the accused.
