Watch Sunil Gavaskar celebrate 50 years of cricket, wishes pour in
Sunil Gavaskar is a legendary former Indian cricketer and captain. Commonly known as the 'Little Master', he happened to be India's one of the highest run-scorers in international cricket before Sachin Tendulkar excelled him. It has been 50 years since Gavaskar made his international debut.
Legendary former Indian cricketer and captain Sunil Gavaskar remains one of the most respected cricketers, not just in India but worldwide. It was precisely 50 years ago when he had made his international debut in a Test against the Windies.
As he marks his 50th anniversary of being associated with cricket, he was complimented by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. On Saturday, during Day 3 of the fourth and final Test between India and England for the Anthony de Mello Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, he was presented with a commemorative Test cap by Jay Shah (BCCI Secretary).
BCCI shared a video of the same, which read, "Celebrating 50 years of Sunil Gavaskar's Test debut. The cricketing world paid tribute to the legendary former India Captain MrMrunil Gavaskar on the occasion of his 50th anniversary of his Test debut for India."

Following the same, wishes poured in from all over the cricketing fraternity, as veteran and ex-cricketers congratulated Gavaskar on the historical recognition. While Shah also hailed separately on Twitter, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, too, joined in through the same platform.
