Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha was one of the Indian players to have been infected by COVID-19 during the now-postponed Indian Premier League 2021. However, after two weeks of rigid quarantine, he has made a complete recovery.

He is currently on a short break, as he is visiting his family in Kolkata. Next week, he would be joining Team India inside the bubble in Mumbai and undergo a quarantine ahead of the team’s departure for England.

India would play the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand next month, followed by a five-Test series against the host in August. Saha is one of the two wicketkeepers on the side, along with Rishabh Pant.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s national selectors have decided to have a cover for Saha, should he fail to make it to the team bubble before departure. According to ESPNCricinfo, uncapped wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharat has been kept on standby and is quarantining with Team India in Mumbai.
