The preparations for the 2021 Indian Premier League resumption in the United Arab Emirates happen to be in full swing. The franchises have already reached the gulf and have begun preparations with the available players.

Meanwhile, with the tournament remainder being played at an odd time, with most nations having international commitments, some of the players have pulled out for the same or citing bubble fatigue. As a result, replacements are being roped in.

Inaugural; champion Rajasthan Royals has roped in No.1 Twenty20 International bowler Tabraiz Shamsi from South Africa. It is its second replacement after Glenn Phillips, with three of its overseas players pulling out in the form of Englishmen Jofra Archer and Jos Buttler, along with Australian all-rounder Andrew Tye.

"It is with great regret that I have to pull out of the remainder of the IPL 2021 with the Rajasthan Royals. It has been a long year for me, which has kept me away from home for a lengthy period, and the disappointment of not making it to the World Cup squad has added to the dismay. Therefore, keeping my best interests in mind, I had to make this tough decision of staying at home and preparing myself mentally and physically for next year's T20 World Cup. I am gutted that I won't be able to rejoin the Royals family this year, but like all the fans out there, I will be cheering the team on," said Tye in a statement from RR.

In contrast, the participation of English all-rounder Ben Stokes remains doubtful. He has decided against participating in the ongoing Pataudi Trophy Test series versus India, citing mental fatigue.

Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore has roped in uncapped English pacer George Garton, as he would be replacing Australian speedster Kane Richardson. It would be Garton's maiden IPL stint, having decent T20 stats, claiming 44 wickets in 38 matches at an economy of 8.26, while he is coming off a reasonable term in The Hundred for Southern Brave, scalping ten from nine at 8.90.
