The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) kicked off well, ensuring gripping entertainment in its early stages. The match on Friday will see the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) take each other on at the Dubai International Stadium.

DC opened the first game and came out winners against KXIP. CSK, on the other hand, have tasted one win and one loss in this IPL season.

Team Composition: Since both teams have already played at least a game each, they have had a chance to check if they have the balanced side required. Also, with two matches on consecutive days at the Dubai International Stadium, teams might look to add some spinners to their side given that the pitch might be a little worn out.

2019 journey: Since both the teams drove themselves to the IPL 2019 playoffs, it won’t be a surprise to see a close match. However, DC being a hub of youngsters and CSK being quite the opposite, experience might put CSK at an advantage.

Head-to-head: Both the teams have clashed with each other 21 times, and it's the CSK who have had the upper hand. CSK have won 15 times.

Weather and pitch report: The temperature will likely hover around 40 degrees Celsius. With the dew coming into play under the lights, the toss winner is likely to opt to bowl first. Any score between 160-180 would be a decent score.

Predicted XI:

CSK: Murali Vijay, Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, MS Dhoni(w/c), Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Deepak Chahar, Piyush Chawla, Lungi Ngidi

DC: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer(c), Rishabh Pant(w), Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Mohit Sharma

Dream XI:

Batsmen: Shane Watson, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Faf du Plessis

All-rounders: Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran

Wicketkeeper: Rishabh Pant

Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Deepak Chahar

Players to watch out for:

Shane Watson:  The senior all-rounder has not been able to give the adequate start that CSK needed. Fans eagerly await his comeback to form.

Piyush Chawla: Often leggies are known to provide breakthroughs, but that hasn’t happened with Piyush Chawla. He was quite expensive against the Rajasthan Royals.

Prithvi Shaw: India’s 2019 U-19 captain fell cheaply in the first game. The team will look forward to his contribution against CSK.

Shimron Hetmyer:  The Windies player will look to consolidate the middle order.
