If there's someone who grabbed the attention on the opening day of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL), it was Sam Curran. On his debut with CSK, he stole the show, as he batted above Dhoni, while he did justice to being sent up the order.

Even with the ball and in the field, no one could keep Sam Curran out of the game. The short spells of electricity were enough to see CSK make breakthroughs and take the game away from Mumbai Indians (MI).

Curran started off with the ball, as he was effective and economical, finishing with figures of 1/28. He also claimed a couple of good catches to get rid of MI skipper Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav, allowing CSK to crawl back into the game after the former were off to a fine start.
