As India takes on New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship 2019-21 final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton form Friday, the stage is set for the ultimate Test cricket battle. It would be the maiden final of Test cricket's first-ever global competition, and the winner would be crowned the king of the format.

While the entire world would be nervously watching it, in what would undoubtedly be a tough clash, Board of Control for Cricket in India president Sourav Ganguly, too, would take a serious interest in it and would be watching it keenly. Meanwhile, on the eve of the big day, the former Indian skipper stated that the side is well-balanced and is confident that it would be at the top of its game.

"It's a big moment for all of us and I wish the team all the very best, as they have worked very hard for two years to get to this position and I am sure they will be at top of the game. Our team is a very balanced team. They bat till the end; you have seen it during the Australian tour also; they are a very solid team. Hopefully, they will play to their potential," he told ANI.

"The quality of players which are there is fantastic and they have done wonderfully well over the years to come up to this position. It's an opportunity for everyone. Virat is a great player and I am sure he will be looking forward to making this event a very memorable one," he added.

Meanwhile, there have been questions on the team combination, if the side would move in with four pacers and a spinner or reduce a pacer and add a spinner, especially considering that the track would have some grass cover. On the same, Ganguly feels that the captain and coach would take the right call, depending on the conditions, while it is expected to rain throughout the five days.

"I don't know what combination they will play; that is up to the team management. We will get to know tomorrow morning when we start watching the game. But, all the bowlers who are there are good enough to win cricket matches. Hopefully, they will do a good job for the country. It's difficult for me to comment about that from here. I am sure captain and the coach will take a decision looking at the surface and conditions tomorrow morning," he concluded.
