 India continued the trend of reporting below 12,000 new cases on Wednesday as it recorded 11,067 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours as the vaccination drive continues.

The Indian Army claims that it takes just 2 seconds for a canine to detect a case with 95 per cent accuracy.

Canada's Liberal government of Justin Trudeau has been facing flak over delays in the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines despite having shortlisted Moderna and Pfizer to deliver the shots.

West Bengal reported 193 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday (February 7) taking the toll to 5,71,371. According to the state health bulletin, 5 people died in a single day in the state taking the toll to 10,207.  

 "It was discussed and as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, the decision has been taken to allow 100% seating for four weeks. Strict guidelines will be released on Thursday." Health and Education Minister K Sudhakar said.  

India reported 12,899 new Covid-19 cases, 17,824 discharges, and 107 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per the health ministry.  

 West Bengal reports 201 new COVID-19 cases taking the toll to 5,70,581. According to the state health bulletin, 7 people died in a single day in the state taking the toll to 10,195.  

The Central Consumer Protection Authority has issued show-cause notices to 14 companies for resorting to misleading claims such as immunity and protection from Covid-19 virus.

Centre has released the data on the amount spent on equipping Covid warriors and frontline workers in the fight against the deadly virus.

India's fightback against Coronavirus continues to gain ground with both the daily new cases and daily deaths witnessing an 8-month low. However, two states -- Maharashtra and Kerala -- are a cause of concern.
