SpiceJet is beginning to conduct coronavirus tests for its passengers in India, UAE with the help of VFS Global. 

 Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order on October 27 to extend the guidelines for Re-opening, issued on 30th September, to remain in force up to November 30.

Doctor Amal Roy died of Covid-19 in Kolkata on Tuesday (October 27) morning. The doctor was first treated at a hospital in Bolpur but after his COVID test report came positive, he was shifted to Calcutta Medical College Hospital. He recovered from the hospital and went home. On Monday (October 26) night, his condition deteriorated. He was again taken to the hospital. On Tuesday (October 27) morning, he passed away.

Single day rise of 36,470 new Covid-19 cases, 488 fatalities pushes India's caseload to 79,46,429, death toll to 1,19,502. Number of active cases stands at 6,25,857, while 72,01,070 people have recovered from the disease so far, the Union health ministry said

The number of COVID-19 cases has increased in Kolkata and North 24 Parganas during Durga puja. According to the State Health Bulletin on Sunday (October 25), 910 people were infected with COVID in a single day in Kolkata. 915 people were infected in North 24 Parganas in one day. Once again, Kolkata tops the list of COVID-19 cases.
