Doctor dies of COVID-19 in Kolkata

Doctor Amal Roy died of Covid-19 in Kolkata on Tuesday (October 27) morning. The doctor was first treated at a hospital in Bolpur but after his COVID test report came positive, he was shifted to Calcutta Medical College Hospital. He recovered from the hospital and went home. On Monday (October 26) night, his condition deteriorated. He was again taken to the hospital. On Tuesday (October 27) morning, he passed away.

Doctor Amal Roy died of Covid-19 in Kolkata on Tuesday (October 27) morning. He was working in Suri district hospital. Amal Roy showed symptoms of COVID-19. Therefore, he was admitted to Bolpur hospital. The hospital authorities did his COVID test and the reports came positive. 

Amal Roy was shifted to Calcutta Medical College Hospital after his health condition suddenly deteriorated during treatment. He underwent all the treatments over there.

After recovering, his family members took him to his home in Medinipur. He was being treated at home with oxygen support. His physical condition deteriorated again from Monday (October 26) night. He was again taken to the hospital. Amal Roy died on Tuesday (October 27) morning. 

In the event of the death of another doctor in the state, the medical community has given the message to stay by the side of the family.

Rajiv Pandey, a doctor on behalf of the West Bengal Doctors Forum, said, “He was admitted to the medical college with COVID-19. There were some other physical problems too. Family members took him home after he recovered. The treatment was going on at home. Suddenly his condition deteriorated. He died this morning. We will stay by the side of the family.”
