Each dose of the vaccine has been priced at Rs 200 and with GST of Rs 10, it would cost Rs 210, according to the purchase order placed on Monday.

Four days ahead of the nationwide vaccination drive begins, the first consignment of Covishield vaccines left the Serum Institute of India for Pune airport from where it will be airlifted to different locations.

The Serum Institute of India has officially received the purchase order from government for Covid-19 vaccines. 

West Bengal on Sunday (January 10) reported 823 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total case tally to 5,60,709. As many as 19 deaths were reported, pushing the fatality tally to 9,941.

India has finally set a date with the coronavirus vaccination drive – January 16, 2021. After several training sessions and two pan-India mock drills, the Narendra Modi government announced the date of the drive, which is seen as the biggest coronavirus vaccination programme around the globe. 

West Bengal reported 926 new COVID-19 cases taking the toll to 5,59,099 on Friday (January 8). According to the state health bulletin, 21 people died in the state pushing the state’s coronavirus death toll to 9,902.

18,222 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours take India's tally to 1,04,31,639. While the death toll is at 1,50,798 with 228 deaths in the last 24 hours.

 Speaking to reporters after visiting a private hospital here, where vaccination dry run is being conducted, he said, the vaccination will be first administered to health care workers.
