The voting for Assam Assembly elections held in three phases was concluded on April 6 with an impressive turnout of 82.04%.

The majority mark in Assam is 64. The BJP is looking to create history by becoming the only non-Congress government to win consecutive terms. 

However, this election was very different from the other states as Assam was the only place where it was fighting to retain power for the saffron party.

Speaking to ANI, Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal said, "People have given us their blessings. It is clear that our government will be formed. We will form the government with AGP and UPPL. We will have to wait till the last vote is counted. The trend is in our favour."

Assembly Speaker Hitendra Nath Goswami of the BJP is trailing Congress nominee Rana Goswami in Jorhat.

BPF leaders and Ministers Pramila Rani Brahma and Chandra Brahma trailing from Kokrajhar East and Sidli constituencies to UPPL's Lawrense Islary and Joyanta Basumatary, respectively.

Pramila Rani Brahma is Assam's Social Welfare Minister seeks re-election from the same constituency of Kokrajhar East. NOt just her 
Assam Tourism Minister Chandan Brahma, too, is seeking re-election.
