"Taliban should know that we will remain Afghans; we will never change our identity or name or anything," says Abeeda Qayoom, an Afghan national who has been living in New Delhi.
With the Taliban taking over power in Kabul, Abeeda says that she is today landless and without a country.
"I am homeless and landless -- I don't have any land. You'll never feel like this because your country is safe. But I hope you never feel like this. It is such a bad feeling in the world to see your land is under the hands of animals," Abeeda told Asianet Newsable.
Slamming Ashraf Ghani for fleeing the country rather than staying back and be the leader, Abeeda said, "He should have stayed in Afghanistan because he is the leader. He had everything. You know, we have so many armed forces. He could have done everything, but why couldn't he do it? That's because he is also not the real president of our country. He got support from some government, and they ordered him to leave Afghanistan. They told him. 'Now your government is finished, leave everything'. So he left Afghanistan. Now we do not have any leaders."
