Journalists stage protest in Bengaluru after Speaker refuses to lift ban on private TV media coverage in Assembly

Several journalists were seen in protest at Anand Rao Circle in Bengaluru over Karnataka Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri's refusal to lift the ban on media coverage in the House.

Bengaluru: Journalists from different regional news channels and national media representatives had on Friday (October 11) staged a protest after the Speaker called for a ban on live telecast from the House. 

Though the journalists approached the Speaker to lift the ban, Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri stood his ground, reiterating that restrictions were imposed as per rules.

Journalists were miffed after Kageri left the chamber without listening to their grievances.

Reacting to this, journalists called for a protest at Bengaluru's Anand Rao Circle.
