Following Siddhartha's departure, Yaodhar lived a monastic life in the palace, wearing yellow robes and eating very little, exactly like Siddhartha. King Suddodana summarised Buddha's description of Yaodhar's existence without Siddhartha. When Gautam Buddha allowed women to join the sangha after five years, she became a bhikkhuni and gained arhat. Later, both Yashodhara and Rāhula later became disciples of Buddha.
