Indian origin teen sodomised and beaten to death in Malaysia

An Indian-origin teen died in Malaysia after being severely bullied by five youths for being effeminate. This has caused outrage in in the country over the increasing number of bullying incidents.

18-year-old T Nhaveen was buying a burger with another friend T Previin when two youths known to them started teasing them. When Praviin stood up to the two, three others joined the bullies, reported the Strait Times.

The five proceeded to both with motorcycle helmets. Previin managed to escape with eye injuries but Nhaveen was beaten brutally. He was burned on the back and sodomised by the five. He suffered internal bleeding in his head and abdomen.

He died in Penang’s George Town hospital on June 15, 2017, after he was pronounced brain dead. Nhaveen’s death has been classified as murder and the five, who are Nhaveen’s former schoolmates, have been arrested.

Nhaveen's mother D Shanti said that he was bullied by one of the five suspects three years ago in school, but did not retaliate fearing further attacks.

Nhaveen was due to start a music course and aspired to be like Rahman, his family said. Rahman earlier twitted for Nhaveen's recovery.

 

This is the second such incident in the month of June. 21-year-old Malaysian Na­­tional Defence University student Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain was tortured for two days with a belt, rubber hose, iron and hanger over a laptop dispute. He died of his injuries.
