Coronavirus: Birds perform ritual instead of humans at Mecca
While the Saudi government has restricted people from performing tawaf at Kaaba in Mecca, authorities monitoring the situation at Holy City Mecca witnessed a rare sight. Birds were spotted flying around Kaaba
Members of the Muslim community were left shocked after birds were spotted performing tawaf. After the Saudi government banned the entry of pilgrims into Holy City and pilgrimage to Kaaba, birds have been seen flying around the Kaaba in anti-clockwise direction.
Muslims believe that as humans failed to perform the pilgrimage to Kaaba, birds took it upon themselves to perform Tawaf, a ritual in which Muslims go around Kaaba (House of Allah) seven times.
The short video shot after dusk shows a swarm of birds circling the Kaaba which Muslims believe is a miracle.
