Bengaluru: Miscreants attack BWSSB employee with machetes

It seems like incidents such as the one in Padarayanpura has taken shape in other parts of the city after rowdies on bikes armed with machetes attacked a BWSSB employee to send fear among authorities. The assailants also passed derogatory remarks against police before leaving the area

The impression of the Padarayanpura incident has not left us yet, while miscreants from Islampur have tried to strike fear again. Many residents say this area is another version of Padarayanpura, with rowdies and drug addicts roaming freely armed with machetes.

Two days ago, when a BWSSB water valve operator, Suresh, was out on duty during the coronavirus lockdown to release water at LBS Nagar, three miscreants arrived on a bike and picked up a quarrel with Suresh and hit him with machetes.

Suresh was seriously injured and after spending a day in hospital, was sent home for to rest for two weeks. He suffered head, neck, shoulder and leg injuries.

It is said the rowdies were on the hunt to get more marijuana and were frustrated as their regular supply took a hit post the lockdown. The attackers were wielding machetes and roamed the area for a while, before leaving the spot, when they allegedly shouted stating, police can't do anything to them and passed derogatory remarks against the police force.
