JD(S) president H Vishwanath was in Hyderabad to attend Kuruba community conference, when he suffered a cardiac arrest. In earlier cases, HD Kumaraswamy when he was the party president had suffered a heart attack. In 2008, JD(S) president Mirajuddin Patel died of a cardiac arrest.

JD(S) holds convention, HN Vishwanath to continue as party prez
Ahead of Lok Sabha polls, JD(S), a regional party is the first one to hold a convention to hint that it is ready for general elections.
