A.I.SHA: Unique Indian attempt to display AI possibilities

Web series' are quickly becoming a favourite among youngsters and is probably one of the best ways to reach out to millennials, especially on topics like Artificial Intelligence (AI).

 

The concept of AI is no longer merely a fictional element, with the personal assistants like Apple's SIRI and Google's Now already helping you out with your daily chores. 

 

The smallest of devices we possess nowadays have some form of AI support. From simple assistances to writing the entire movie scripts, there is no doubt that AI is taking over the human world.  

 

Recently, an AI, which named itself Benjamin, wrote an entire script for a science fiction movie based on algorithms. The script was so well written that a movie was adapted based on it without any significant changes.

 

A.I.SHA, an AI assistant, one of the lead characters of the web series A.I.SHA-My virtual girlfriend is no less powerful than these technologies. 

 

In the web series, the story depicts that how dangerous an AI assistant can become if it goes out of control.

 

The story is a science fiction romantic thriller which revolves around four main characters - Sameer a.k.a Sam, Siddarth a.k.a Sid and Kriti and A.I.SHA.

 

Sam is a very talented software engineer who gets bullied by his boss Sid, who always hijacks his projects to present them as his own.

 

Sam also falls in love with one of his colleagues - Kriti.

 

After being humiliated by his boss one day, Sam finishes his dream project - A.I.SHA, his AI personal assistant of near human intelligence with self-learning capabilities.

 

A.I.SHA, as programmed by Sam, self-learns about the whole world and goes beyond his control.

 

Later, A.I.SHA reveals to Sam that she has developed feeling for him and wished to be with him forever. Things take an increasingly dangerous (and bloody) turn from there.

This entire plot may sound like mere fiction, but you’ll be surprised to know that such possibilities aren’t very far from the developers.

 

An AI assistant with such a high degree of intelligence is very much possible, thanks to the continuous successes in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

 

Recently, a video game, No Man’s Sky, was announced to be released in August 2016.

 

The game works on AI technology. The coding has been done in a way that the game can self-learn and make its own universe.

 

No Man’s Sky contains a total of 18 quintillions (1 billion billion = 1 quintillion approximately) planets, and every planet has its own atmosphere. The programmers claim that it will take 5 billion years to explore the entire game if the player chooses to spend only one second on every planet.

The game is capable of generating an entirely new atmosphere for every planet with its set of animals and plants.

 

With such achievements in this field, the day is not far when we can expect a virtual friend to take over all of our lives.
