Airtel prepaid customers to get 50% data back in 'Happy Hours'

Airtel on Thursday rolled out its 'Happy Hours' offer, which gives users 50 percent of their data usage back on consumption done between 3 am to 5 am.

 

Airtel has asked its developers to add a 'time scheduling option' to its users' phone software so that they can schedule their downloads at a convenient time.

 

The data treat will be made available for users as a default function soon.

 

The new features will require four simple steps:

 

1.    Embed the new 'Happy Hours' API into your app.

2.   When a user initiates a download, the API will check if the user is using Airtel's prepaid internet and eligible for happy hours.

3.    Give your users the option to 'download during Airtel happy hours'.

4.    Initiate the download for the customer at 3 am.

 

The Telecom major is not imposing any extra activation charges for the service. The new service will work on existing data packs, without requiring a change of plans.
