Yuvi’s back and here’s why we can’t keep calm!

  • An injury ruled him out of the semi-final of the ICC World T20 2016.
Yuvraj Singh comeback here iss why we cant keep calm

The last time when Yuvraj Singh played an ODI against India was against South Africa at Centurion in 2013. The southpaw last featured for India in the T20s was against Australia in ICC World T20 2016. And now the evergreen comeback king makes a return to both the ODI and T20 squad against England.

But this time things will be a little different. He won’t be listening to the instructions of MS Dhoni as Virat Kohli will be at the helm of the team affairs.

Yuvraj has been duly rewarded a place in the Indian cricket team because of his brilliant run of form in the domestic season, where he scored 672 runs in just 5 matches. The attacking left-handed batsman also added a double ton to his name as well.

Some people have already started speculating over the fact that Yuvraj has been recalled to the India ODI and T20 squad because of his friendship with skipper Kohli. To answer that baseless rumour, I must say, a player who has featured in 293 ODIs, scored 8329 runs at an average of just above 36 and a strike rate of 87.24 with 51 half-centuries and 13 tons – he does not need anybody’s friendship to come back to the Indian squad.

If still someone has doubts over his abilities, the final T20 against Australia Down Under in January 2016, Yuvi showed how the 34-year-old still has it in him. Even MS Dhoni will give him the due credit playing a major role in ICC World T20 2007 and ICC World Cup 2011.

So let us all welcome the swashbuckling all-rounder back to the Indian side and hope he shuts his critics!
